The detail should be easy to find.
Does the Tesla Wall Connector only charge Teslas?
No. It has a Type 2 connector and charges any EV that takes Type 2. In Australia the Gen 3 Wall Connector ships with a Type 2 handle, which is the standard connector on nearly every electric vehicle sold here. The Tesla app integration is the part that is Tesla-specific. If you drive a Polestar, a BYD or a Kia, the charging works; you will simply use the car's own app rather than Tesla's for charge scheduling.
How fast will it charge my car?
About 40km of range per hour on single phase, or 60km on three phase. That is 7kW and 11kW respectively, at up to 32A. Which one you get is decided by your home's supply, not by the charger: a single-phase home cannot draw three-phase power, and that is a switchboard and network question rather than a product choice. For an overnight charge either is comfortably enough, since most Perth driving days are well under 100km.
I already bought a Wall Connector from Tesla. Can you just install it?
Yes. We install customer-supplied units as a Tesla Premium Certified Installer. Add the item to a quote and note that it is installation only, or start from our [EV charger page](/shop). The installation covers the electrical work, the commissioning and the monitoring configuration. Where switchboard modification, extended cabling or multi-level access is needed, those are itemised before you commit under [additional installation costs](/additional-installation-costs).
Will it charge from my solar only?
Not on its own. The Wall Connector has no excess-solar-only mode. It charges at the rate it is set to, whether the sun is out or not. If charging exclusively from surplus solar is what you are after, the [myenergi zappi](/product/myenergi-zappi-ev-charger) is built for exactly that and is the more honest recommendation.
