Sigen EV DC Charging Module

It ships factory-set at 12.5kW, and 25kW is a software licence. Sigenergy discontinued the separately-sold 25kW module for Australia and New Zealand from 9 June 2026. The hardware is identical; the higher rating is now activated through a licence in the mySigen app, through a distributor or through your installer, with no site visit and no hardware swap. The 5m cable model was withdrawn at the same time, leaving 7.5m and 10m. It raises the ceiling. It does not raise your actual charging speed on its own. Real-world charging power is set by whichever link is smallest: your solar generation at that moment, your battery's discharge rate, your Energy Controller's output and your car's own DC acceptance rate. Plenty of vehicles will not draw 25kW on DC from a home unit anyway. Buy the licence when the rest of your system can feed it, not on the assumption that the number on the module is the number your car sees. Your car becomes a second battery during an outage, including black start. With a compatible vehicle the module runs bidirectionally, so a car with 60kWh in it can carry a house through an evening blackout that would flatten a 9kWh wall battery. Black start means the system can bring itself back up from the vehicle without grid power. The constraint is the car: bidirectional DC support is vehicle-dependent and the list of models that genuinely support it in Australia is still short. A Sigen Energy Controller. This is a module in a system, not a standalone wallbox. It pairs with the Energy Controller as part of the SigenStor stack alongside the [Sigen Battery](/product/sigen-battery), and a Sigen Energy Gateway is added where blackout protection is wanted. The connector is CCS2, cooling is smart air, and the enclosure is IP66 rated.
