When would I choose the AC charger over the Sigen DC module?
When the car parks somewhere the SigenStor is not. The [DC charging module](/product/sigen-ev-dc-charging-module) is part of the SigenStor stack and lives where the stack lives. If your charge point is at the other end of the house, or on a different wall entirely, the AC charger is the practical answer. You give up bidirectional vehicle-to-home capability and DC fast charging, and you gain the freedom to put the charge point where the car actually parks.
Do I need a SigenStor system to use it?
No, though the integration is the reason to pick it. It functions as a standard 32A AC charger. Paired with a Sigen Energy Controller and battery it comes under one monitoring platform in the mySigen app, with charging coordinated against solar generation and battery state. Bought on its own, it is a competent charger with a 2-year warranty and no particular advantage over the alternatives on this site.
Which power rating applies to my home?
7kW on single phase, 11kW or 22kW on three phase. The 5m tethered Type 2 cable is the shortest in our range alongside the Wallbox, so check the distance from the wall to your car's charge port before ordering. Single-phase homes are limited to 7kW regardless of which unit is bought, which is about 40km of range per hour.
What warranty and support come with it?
2 years, with installation and service cover to match when we install. PSW Energy is a Sigenergy Gold Certified Installer, which is the tier we were [recognised at in WA](/learn/psw-energy-sigenergy-gold-certified-installer). Monitoring configuration and network integration are part of the install, and [PSW Life Support](/psw-life-support) runs afterwards. Installation cost is quoted against your switchboard and cable run rather than assumed.
