PSW Explains

Suntech solar panel warranty conditions and support

Check your own Suntech warranty documents for supply and installation conditions. The terms quoted here are historical; contact service support if you need help with an existing system.

Suntech Solar Panel Warranty by Perth Solar Warehouse
In this article

A Suntech panel sourced and installed correctly carried 15 years product and 25 years performance. Sourced badly, it carried nothing at all. Not reduced cover — none.

In short

  • PSW Energy no longer sells Suntech. This page is kept for people who already own it.
  • 15-year product and 25-year performance warranty, when supplied through the proper channel and installed to specification.
  • Outside that: zero years. A panel that does not meet the manufacturer’s installation conditions is not a warranty claim, it is a purchase.
  • The failure was almost always procurement, not the panel.

Warranty supply and installation conditions

This is the bluntest version of a problem that runs through every brand on this site. The warranty is a contract with conditions, and the conditions are about handling and installation as much as about the product. Nobody tells you at the point of sale, and the gap only appears years later when a claim is refused.

Support for existing Suntech owners

Suntech is not in our range. The general version of this trap, and the questions worth asking any installer about it, is on the Huawei warranty page.

We support panels we did not install and brands we no longer sell, through PSW Life Support. If you are replacing rather than repairing, what we currently fit is in the range.

Record: warranty terms as published at the time of writing in 2020. Confirm against your own documentation before relying on them.
