Explore this size*Includes the solar array, mounting and standard installation, GST included, after eligible Zone 3 STCs. Inverter and battery costs are separate. Requires an accompanying approved inverter or integrated storage system. Base pricing assumes a single-level home, one roof face and suitable switchboard access and capacity. Your quote confirms eligibility, equipment and any site-specific work.
These figures explain the basis of a system. An inverter price is not a complete installed system price. Scroll across the table on smaller screens.

*Prices are package-contribution guides sourced June 2026, subject to site inspection and current promotions. They are not an offer and are confirmed at quote. Savings are modelled on Synergy Home Plan A1 (33.2621 c/kWh from 1 July 2026) at 70% of generation used on site, north-facing array at 25° pitch, Zone 3 Perth irradiance. Rebate figures are 2026 values at $38/STC, Zone 3. Your quote confirms exact figures. Basis reviewed 2026-08-07.

| Variable | Baseline | Indicative uplift | Why it costs more |
|---|---|---|---|
| Double storey | Single storey | $550+ | Height triggers additional fall-arrest and edge-protection requirements, longer cable runs from array to switchboard, and in most cases a larger access plant on site for the day. |
| Tile or terracotta roof | Tin (Colorbond) roof | $110 – $660 | Tile mounting requires individual tile lifting and bracket seating rather than direct rail clamping, and terracotta in particular carries a breakage allowance. It is slower work, it scales with the size of the array, and the roof has to be left watertight. |
Perth is not a national average. See how certificates, exported energy and network requirements shape the design.
Perth sits in Zone 3, one of the higher-irradiance rating zones, so a given array earns more certificates here than the same array in the south-east. The certificate value steps down each calendar year, which is why the rebate column above carries a basis year.
Synergy's DEBS scheme pays approximately 10 c/kWh ex GST for exports between 3 pm and 9 pm, and 2 c/kWh ex GST off-peak. The gap between that and the 33.2621 c/kWh import rate is the whole argument for self-consumption and storage: energy you use is worth several times energy you export.
Since 1 May 2026 a SWIS connection allows up to 30 kVA of aggregate inverter capacity across solar and battery combined. Exports run either through the flexible-export pathway, which needs Emergency Solar Management and VPP-capable equipment, or a fixed 1.5 kW cap. Which pathway you take shapes the design, which is why supply type appears in the matrix above.

Start my solar planPanel and inverter selection sits on each size page. Storage is priced separately. See the WA battery rebate page for what applies to a battery.
| Three-phase supply | Single-phase supply | $400 – $1,200 | Three-phase properties need a three-phase inverter, which sits at a higher price point than its single-phase equivalent. It is not a penalty: three-phase also raises your export headroom and opens larger system sizes. |
|---|
| Coastal / salt-mist zone | Inland metropolitan | $200 – $900 | Properties near the coast need corrosion-rated mounting hardware and, on some manufacturers, a specific salt-mist-certified panel to keep the product warranty intact. The uplift buys warranty validity, not just materials. |
|---|
| Switchboard upgrade | Compliant existing board | $165 – $2,490+ | Older boards frequently lack the space, main-switch rating or RCD protection a solar connection requires. This one is genuinely unknowable until the board is opened, which is why it is quoted on inspection rather than estimated. |
