PSW Energy receives Tesla Energy Performance Excellence Award

Certain energy storage technologies promise the world yet deliver below expectations. Meanwhile, Tesla Energy penetrates diverse markets with over 500,000 operational Powerwall units installed globally. Such uptake can only be attributed to successful outcomes for the investment. With refined product selection criteria, PSW Energy believes in benefits for homeowners beyond essential return on investment (ROI) …

Tesla gave Perth Solar Warehouse its Q4 2023 Performance Excellence Award, and the reason it is worth a page is the audit behind it rather than the trophy. Tesla measures its certified installers on completed work and remotely audits the installs, so the numbers below are its assessment of us, not ours.

In short

  • Q4 2023 Tesla Energy Performance Excellence Award, announced in the Powerwall Certified Installer newsletter for Q1 2024.
  • Customer satisfaction 4.8 out of 5 and a 95 per cent audit score, both measured by Tesla rather than self-reported.
  • Top 10 per cent by installation volume in Australia, with a fleet then totalling 2.8 MWh.
  • This is a 2023 record. The product has moved on: Powerwall 2 is legacy and Powerwall 3 replaced it.

Tesla’s performance assessment

Every certified installer gets an annual performance review, and the useful part is that Tesla audits installations remotely rather than taking a company’s word for its own quality. An audit score is a check on the work; a satisfaction score is a check on the experience. A company can score well on one and badly on the other, and the pair is more informative than either.

Parameter Statistic
Ranking 2023
Top 10% installation volume Australia
Market Growth 2023
Market outperformance: 165%
Personal Growth Milestone 2023
362% Q4, 2023 Year on Year growth
Performance 12 months
Customer Satisfaction: 4.8/5
Audit Performance: 95%
Fleet power
2.8 MWh

The growth figures need reading carefully, because they are the ones most easily oversold. A 362 per cent year-on-year quarter is a real number and it is also a small base growing — that is what growth percentages do. The 4.8 out of 5 and the 95 per cent audit are the durable ones, because they do not get easier as volume rises. They usually get harder.

The team behind the award

A renewed focus on Powerwall and the first Perth Tesla Energy Tech Talk, held at the Tesla showroom in Osborne Park in November 2023. The award was accepted by the team: Joshua Obyrn, Russell Barnet, Kate Rutherford, Nicole Bilman, Mark Rutherford and Derek McKercher. Nicole has since been appointed Chief Executive Officer.

Powerwall and installer updates

Powerwall 2 has been retired and Powerwall 3 is the current product, which changes the sizing conversation because the inverter is built into it. If you are comparing the two, or you have a Powerwall 2 and are wondering where that leaves you, the comparison is the page for it.

PSW Energy has now held Tesla Premium Certified Installer status for a fifth consecutive year, which is the top five per cent of Tesla’s Australian network, and has worked with Tesla Energy for seven years. Those are the current credentials; this page is the 2023 one.

Batteries we currently fit are in the battery range. For a size worked out against your own evening rather than a state average, ask for a written price.
