Installer perspectives on ENF Trade TV
ENF Solar runs a photovoltaic product and company directory used across the international supply chain, listing manufacturers, installers and equipment suppliers. Field Tested sits on its ENF Trade TV channel, and the premise is in the name: installers talking about equipment they have fitted, rather than manufacturers talking about equipment they have made.
A datasheet describes a panel at 25°C under 1000W/m². Installers can discuss handling, mounting and how equipment performs on a roof.
Our model preference
For most homes we specify the Neostar 3S+ at 490W, not the higher-output 3P at 500W. The 3P is available and we will design a system around it if you ask, but it is not our default.
Ten watts of nameplate difference is about two per cent, and two per cent almost never decides a system. Roof geometry, string layout, shading and how the inverter is sized against the array will move your annual yield further than that gap ever will. If the choice is between a slightly higher-output panel and a slightly better array layout, take the layout.
